Working in conjunction with Youth Offending Teams to Prevent Re-offending and having been Awarded the Youth Justice Boards 'Effective Practice Award'.
Artz Academy has developed expertise in working with hard to reach young people or those excluded from mainstream education. We have run arts workshops with special needs, learning disabilities, those with autism, dyslexia, ADD and work with all ages from 3 years old to our oldest participant of 95!
Artz Academy follows guidelines set out by the Youth Justice System to prevent offending or re-offending by children and young people. The key elements of Effective Practice are simple guidelines that can be used by those working with young people in both the community and the secure estate. Artz Academy follows Effective Practice in the following areas; Planning interventions, Education, Training and Employment, final warning interventions, Intensive supervision and Surveillance Programmes, Mental Health, Mentoring, Offending Behaviour Programmes, Resettlement, Substance Misuse, Remand Management.
Our Arts based programmes provide young people with the opportunity to:

- Apply skills learned in classrooms to a different setting
- Repeat essential learning and reinforce the skills learned
